Designers Sonam and Paras Modi, the creative minds behind ‘SVA,’ commemorated their remarkable ten-year voyage in the fashion realm. This momentous occasion was celebrated by taking the audience on a captivating journey down memory lane with their men’s and women’s collection, “Safar,” at the prestigious Lakmé Fashion Week in collaboration with FDCI.
“Safar” delved deep into the annals of the brand’s history, resurfacing with intricate weaves, motifs, and textures, all infused with a contemporary twist. The color palette remained loyal to ‘SVA’s’ iconic signature blue, while also introducing merlot hues with metallic accents, resulting in a dazzling and fashionable presentation.
The collection featured exquisite fabrics, including luxurious crepe, silk, and sheer organza. ‘SVA’s’ signature prints took center stage on the runway, accompanied by intimate jaals, intricate threadwork, and metallic embellishments, which together created a rich tapestry of beauty.
Luxury was imbued with a touch of bohemian spirit, as layered ensembles were adorned with lively stripes. Draping played a pivotal role, and patchwork techniques crafted a wondrous tapestry as the foundation. Structured cape jackets made bold fashion statements, while gracefully draped skirts swirled down the runway on elegant models. Adding diversity to the collection were sharply tailored pant suits, catering to power dressing aficionados. Noor jackets and embellished blazers graced the collection, and the traditional sari received a contemporary makeover this season. Handmade potlis were the dominant accessory, adding the perfect touch of elegance to each ensemble.
The men’s collection harmonized seamlessly with the contemporary nature of the overall presentation. Tone-on-tone embellishments adorned trench coats, bandies, jackets, sheer kurtas, and layered creations, all brought to life in silk and organza.
