The night’s most coveted award, Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Theatrical Feature Film, was bestowed upon Sean Baker for his compelling drama, Anora. This marks Baker’s first DGA win, solidifying his reputation as a master storyteller.
In the television categories, Frederick E.O. Toye clinched the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series for the Shōgun episode “Crimson Sky,” while Lucia Aniello was honored with the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series for the Hacks episode “Bulletproof.” Aniello’s win marks her second DGA award, having previously been recognized in 2021.
The DGA’s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the illustrious Ang Lee, whose diverse filmography includes masterpieces like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain. Lee expressed profound gratitude, stating, “To be given the DGA Lifetime Achievement Award is a momentous achievement for me personally.”
