Raghuvir Joshi, a talented filmmaker, unveiled his international debut feature, Sahela (Companion), to an enthralled audience at the South Asia Premiere during the prestigious Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival, within the Focus South Asia section.

This Australian production is a joint effort between Tayyab Madni of Picture Works Australia and Radhika Lavu of Ellanar Films in India, in association with Mythri Movie Makers, co-produced by AB International Films, and executive produced by the Oscar-nominated actor Dev Patel and Jaspreet Kaur.

“Sahela” is an English-Hindi language film set in Australia, within the vibrant Indian community of Western Sydney. It tells the tender story of Vir and Nitya, a married couple whose deep bond unravels when Vir courageously comes out as gay.
